JAMES F BABER JR "Jim"
James F Baber Jr, 23, died about 7:30 Saturday evening when the self-built hot rod he was driving went out of control on Hyde parkway.
Jim was an apprentice carpenter, employed by the E. J. Cody Co., Kansas City.
Survivors: Wife Jodell and two-year old son, James F Baber III. He is also survived by his father, James F Baber Sr, St Joseph, his mother, Mrs Luella Baber, also of St Joseph and two sisters Mrs Linda Martinez and Miss Sharon Baber, both of St Joseph.

I always thought it was a motor cycle wipe-out. If not, that would have been a more fitting way for James to go.Gary Gann
If I remember correctly, he died in a dune buggy he and his dad had built. I'm almost certain it happened right in front of Benton, he went down in the ditch after he lost control.
